Monday's Staff Meeting

Evaluations and conferences are fast approaching so the teachers go over each student.  The student's advisor writes up the final evaluation and has the parent/student conference.  So they take turns reviewing students- for example the Humanities teacher asks how "Tommy" is doing in Science.  The conversation is equally about accomplishments, attitudes, and behavior.  A lot of attention is given to student interactions.  For example, Jason behaves very well when he is around Claire, but when he sits near Lucie they quickly get off task.  It's fascinating actually.

Do you remember the shadowing assignment when we were to compare the student's behavior from one class to another?  It isn't just about the student interaction with the teacher, the subject, or the classroom management style.  It might just be about who the student is sitting near.
